Please see my post no. 3. To avoid "slow leaks" the air conditioning system needs to be run regularly all year round. I always suggest once a month, during a journey. Here is the reason why.

Special lubricating oil is carried around the circuit with the refrigerant gas when the compressor is running. This lubricates the seals between the pipe joints, keeping them supple and gas tight. If the air con. isn't used for long periods the seals dry out and shrink minutely. This is enough to release the refrigerant gas which is under pressure even when the compressor isn't running. The seals will recover once the system is recharged and used regularly so no specialist repairs are necessary.

Now that you've got yours running again I'd recommend that you use it every few days to give your seals a chance to recover.
