Default Noise from thv unit in boot - current drain problem?

I've recently swopped cars, virtually identical model 03 Connie 2.5KV6 auto, but the replacement is fitted with the Highline TV/satnav etc, never had one of those before. i was part way through fitting one to my previous car though, before the engine failure occurred. Anyway, the new car is on the driveway, I'm stripping bits off the old car/converting to lpg/etc. and I noted noise from the boot. To me, as a retired electronics engineer, it sounded like a noisy PC fan, and I got round to removing the TV unit and the noise stopped. Thing is although it did it a lot, with everything switched off, it did sometimes stop. Anyway, I swapped the TV unit (and most of the other ICE boxes as well) for the later versions of the units that I had in stock. No more "fan noise". However there is now a persistent high frequency whistle from that TV unit - and I can't get rid of it! Is this a fault? And of course if is electrically generated, this is a current drain. I've seen posts on here about that, am I now suffering from a new fault (to me)?
