That's a testament to how strongly F1 cars are built.

Well you cannot stop cars being hit so they tip over.
To stop them skidding upside down on gravel the only thing you can do is to put some extensions above the hieght of the air intake so they dig into the gravel. The problem is that will just cause other problems.
When was the last time you saw a F1 car upside down going across a gravel trap?

Certainly the halo digging into the gravel trap, probably not much can be done but has to be looked at, but the tyre wall has to be considered. However, the strength of the fencing has to be seen as a success.
Any major incident, which that was, has to be investigated to see what worked, what did not, and whether any recommendations are made worldwide...........and not a spoiler in sight!
