No, just got back. I will check this out and let everyone know of the outcome. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Arctic, the fuel filter was replaced on the last service less than 2000 miles ago. I take my car to a great mechanic who knows Rover 75's and he is very efficient with major service schedules. I will ask him to do a leak back test done when I can get it to him. In the meantime I am going to get under the bonnet and and check all the other things peeps have advised.

to all forum guru's

Best thing to do is get it on a T4. send Russ a PM. Failing that any decent code reader could point you in the right direction. everything else is just guesswork.

That won't bring on the check engine light though. Unlike the cam sensors, the crankshaft sensors are pretty much bullet proof - most problems are with them not being seated correctly after removal.

There isn't much that brings on the check engine light, but need to know if the OP has a boost temperature sensor or not to narrow it down. If fitted it sits in the air pipe afterthe EGR valve at the front of the engine.

Cheers Steve, and of course I should have said before the EGR and not after it.
