Reverse light and parking sensor
First post but have been reading the forum quite a bit over the last few weeks after buying a ztt with a few issues.
This weeks problem is the parking sensors which just emit a long beep when reverse is selected. I have listened to each sensor for a click but none appear to be working. Also only one reverse light is working (passenger side) although the bulb is fine. Are these problems connected? |

Welcome to the club I dont think the parking sensors failing are related to the bulb going atall. Daft question, but do you have the car in reverse & ignition on when listening for the clicking ? Check the ignition is on (but engine not running of course ) and then listen. If all 4 sensors have stopped clicking, I'd put my money on the parking aid ECU failing.

I put money on the fault being a failed loom behind the bumper that's causing the long tone from the sensors.

On mine when the far right sensor power wire broke at the connector, three out of four were clicking but I still got a long tone from the sensors and they didn't work. I presume a safety feature to warn you that not all the sensors are working to prevent you relying on a partial field of view from the remaining sensor.
Subsequently to this another part of the loom failed stopping all the sensors in the end |
