Default A few jobs crossed off the list.

At last a dry sunny day and a few hours spent sorting some of the issues on Sprout, although there are few more to go yet.

Removed and checked the non working high level brake light found a burnt out diode in the LED, replaced with used unit from scrap yard and now working fine.

Removed the auto gear selector indicator (the one beside the gear stick) and found the circuit board lying in the bottom of the hole which obviously accounts for the very dim illumination so this was replaced by a used unit thanks to Lynn at MGR South Devon, again all OK now.

Had a proper look at the plenums and found approx 10/15mm of water in the bottom so cleaned all the drains and then fitted Jules plenum guards.

Drained and filled the washer bottle with some hot bleachy water and that seems to have got the low water warning to switch off.

Replaced the space saver with a full sized spare.

Not a massive list but enough for an old boy like me.

Next on the list is sort out the smelly air con and have the front bumper off to fit viton O rings, twin horns etc.
Cheers Ian

Following.

What do you reckon is the cause of your smelly air con and how do you fix it?

Rav

Change pollen filter and then use a car air bomb

Yep thats it Stu..
Then a trip to my local coach hire company for an air-con service.
I had exactly the same issue on Redfive when I bought it.
If I'd known I would have had a filter ready to fit today when I did the plenums but I thought it had recently had a full service.
Unfortunately the MG Owners club member that I bought it from was not as enthusiastic about the servicing as he would have me believe..
That said all things considered I'm happy with the car.
The other thing I must sort is a wet nearside boot so maybe start with rear light thankfully the OS that houses the CD changer is fine.

Cheers Ian

If it is a Tourer you have they do not suffer the same problems of a leaking rear light...

It could be the waist chrome strip on the rear wing, these have been known to cause water in the boot.

Thanks for the advice John I'll have a look ASAP, a drop of silicone at the bolt holes is the fix I expect.

Regards Ian

You mean I'm supposed to have a little red dot as well !

Only kidding.. The old unit was in three pieces mate and a repair had been tried using some tasteful yellow insulation tape.
Getting there slowly.
Cheers

Does the bomb not mask the problem or does it fix it? I still had smelly air con even after reloading the pollen and all the other filters.

The only way I know of to clean the air con pong properly can be found if you read https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=194849
I think the amount you put in and where you put it ( oo-er ) is the important thing...
