Default Fuel hose clamps

Returning from work for the week and had to make use of my breakdown recovery cover due to the failure of a fuel hose clamp and my lack of any substitute. The clamp that failed was the sprung type and its condition makes me think replacing with stainless steel fuel clamps may be overdue. Fuel hose looked OK to my untrained eye- should it be renewed after a set period? Anybody have recommendations regarding hose and clamp supplier, size(s) and quantity needed for a 52 CDT?
As the engine bay is now covered in diesel... advice on the best way to clean this up would be much appreciated too.
Thanks in advance.
