Default Interior lamps on 75

The Rover 75 has 2 interior lamps with 3 bulbs in the front housing and 2 in the rear. These are served by a dedicated 10A fuse #7. I can't get the rear lamps to work. The bulbs are OK and I've used contract cleaner on the switches. There is a 5 seconds hold and re-set function that I cannot seem to activate either - ideas anyone?

check for power at the plug where it fits to the light rail.
The light rails can rust so there is nothing left.
poor connection for the bulbs

Thanks for this. To update this minor saga, whilst the interior lamps fuse may be OK, the voltage rail measures as it should and the bulbs test as OK - there remains the issue of those pesky lockfit bulb holders! If these are very slighly turned (by turning the pushed in bulb) the earth contact can then be re-made where there was presumably no (or poor) contact before and the bulb will mercifully light up. But turn it too far and the whole fitting gets lost up inside the lamp compartment bay..... I guess you all know this, but having Posted this query in the first place, I thought I would share.

Yep , been there ! In my case , the plastic backplate on the rear unit was beginning to break up and the bulb-holders were not fitting securely . After trying a few bodges I was able to find a decent unit on ebay , and all is now working fine again
