Default question about a DAB aerial

Hi all i purchased a sat nav without a GPS antenna would a DAB aerial what sticks on the window with the copper part that attaches to the metal of the car serve the same purpose thanks in advance

Nope! Sorry! It won't. You will need a dedicated GPS antenna connected to the GPS connector of the unit.



On the plus side: you can mount the GPS antenna on the steel tube that's behind and above the unit. The antenna will be invisible but will have great reception. I had this setup in all my MG's / R75's

There are roof mounted sharkfin aeriels available that have connections for both DAB and GPS.Depends if you fancy drilling a hole in your roof.

So does the existing MGR sharks fin contain a DAB aerial as well as a GPS aerial?

I wouldn't have thought so as it pre dates the DAB era.I was talking about an aftermarket one.I have a dab sharkfin and there was an option for same one but with a GPS connection too.I use a separate magnetic GPS aeriel which sits on the bar behind the dash.
