MGZT vs Rover 75, please explain..
Hi all - I've been looking for a pre facelift 75 for months now as i want a really really good one. As i've been getting nowhere fast, i've started looking at MGZT's and have seen a nice looking diesel one on ebay with quite a low mileage. I want a 75 as i want a car that i can do all the maintenance on myself, and parts and info seem readily available. If i bought an MGZT would i still be able to look after it myself or are there so many differences between the MGZT and normal 75 that maintaining it would become a nightmare? If parts and info are difficult to come by then i'd sooner keep looking for a nice 75. Any help from experienced owners would be greatly appreciated!

From a maintenance point of view the differences are cosmetic e.g. 18inch wheels, stiffer suspension etc

ZT's are a harder ride - more sporty suspension set up - engines are identical across both cars - body styling is different . Both cars can be fettled easily compared to modern cars. Parts are readily available for both.

I always think as the 75 as the sensible grown up, Trilby hat wearer, and the ZT as the baseball cap wearing backwards, wipper-snapper!
No offence to either owner, just my daft impressions!

So, the next purchase will be a Corsa 3-door with wide wheels and stripes?
