Default Car Running Again!!

Hi All,

So yesterday I took round Roverrons commons cdti engine faults pdf along with a spare stc4649A HP valve stop injection pump '' rimmers' that I had. LOL

So, I popped in this lunch time expecting to be fobbed off, but they had gone through all the checks listed and found nothing. Leak back tests etc all okay. Had the fuel pump out under the seat, all okay etc.
Then they changed the spare I had from previous. Car started and they couldn't get it to fail again.

No confidence yet. Let’s see if it gets me home!!

I have the old valve and can see that both rings have bits missing!!

They also haven’t taken any monies yet. Told me to drive round a few days and if all okay come back and pay £80.

kind regards
Rich

If the seals have gone on the old valve there is your issue.

Hi Richard.
The twice that you have had the regulator O-rings fail, have you replace them with new O-rings or just swapped out the regulator with another from another car?

Also do you have a synergy fitted to your car.

Please take note of the large O-ring on the regulator, as most do not have them when removed i think they get ingested by the HPFP ? could be wrong, but i know i always make sure if i change out the O-rings that all three rings are fitted.

It was an amost new one but dont know about th o ring as I didnt fit it.

I'm guessing he fitted it but maybe I need to make sure.

The synergy damages the HPFP and it's regulator so maybe that's why you have had two fitted in the past, 80k apart.

Personally i would remove the synergy and have the car upgraded with a 160 contact BigRuss he will be able to do an upgrade for you.
