Cool

Afternoon all.

The sun is out and it’s raining.

New wiper blades fitted on Banana, and a tank of go go juice. She knows how to treat my wallet.

Afternoon all. Just fitted a pair of horns to Spotty the Sportage, to replace the excuse for a horn that comes as standard. It didn't even shift the pigeons! They should certainly shift now! Saw a 75 tourer in Ormesby St. Margaret t'other day. A very special 2 tone. Silver, with a blue door!

Evening. Not 100% convinced by the negative covid test. Still feel cr@p, hot (not in some desirable way!), aches and pains, coughing, sneezing, headache. Planned to get some shopping today but just didn't feel up to it, have to go out tomorrow, no choice, need some stuff and the road is closed Sunday . . . . bleedin' Edinburgh half marathon! Its the EDINBURGH half marathon, keep it in Edinburgh instead of inconveniencing us down here

So pre-op assessment completed and told the operation on 02 October was definitely going ahead.

Rover54 was there to meet and take me to the hospital and to return back to the station at 5pm, thank you Ed, how very kind.

The train was packed, every seat taken. Opposite me were two young ladies talked non-stop, rent-a-mouth, both had rings through their noses like farm animals and through their lips and bad hair. Across the aisle were a couple with little screaming children. It felt like it was bedlam.

This morning I heard from the surgeon’s secretary, the operation has been cancelled because of the doctors going on strike and the surgeon is trying to renegotiate and reschedule a new operation date.

A disappointment 3rd time the ops have been cancelled, it feels like getting blood out of a stone.

Tomorrow we are both having the Autumn Covid vaccination booster and afterwards we will go to a cake shop for a treat, then all being well, a walk.

Trying to keep positive……
Sorry to read that Phil.
Perhaps things do come in threes and the next date being the fourth will stick.

It must be very frustrating for you both. Fingers crossed that the wait won't be for long.

My missus has got her date for the latest covid jab I said to her earlier that I need to switch on my phone to see if they've sent me a reminder to book one, Haven't switched it on in weeks

I've not decided what's for tea tonight as my missus is still out shopping so I shall wait to see what delights await and see what she wants for tea.
Good morning Ian that’s great news your good lady has a date for the COVID booster. We had ours yesterday, no problem but arm is sore for a few days.

After the jabs we treated ourselves to 2 gammon steaks meals at a pub for £10.50, the pub was packed with the over 60’s who were also getting a 25% discount on everything including the drinks. A clever ploy to drum up trade.

The operations getting cancelled for the 3rd time, I refuse to allow it to pull me down and get the miseries. I am annoyed the strike action is dragging on and on. how neither side will budge - it’s as though no one cares about the patients who are being treated like pawns. I know who will be getting my vote at the next election.

Our tickets have been changed twice and run out on 17January as they are only valid 12 months from when they were bought, that’s something else.

Jessica is not very happy about swimming in the sea in November wearing a wetsuit, so now I am looking for an indoor heated pool instead, fair enough.

This morning we are back on track walking and keeping fit.

Have a great day.

Morning all,

Japanese Grand Prix qualifying just about to start. Looks like Red Bull have got their Mojo back......Shame!

Off to work lhis afternoon, thankfully the weather looks ok for the day.

We have a provisional departure date of Saturday 21st October for our sea passage to bring Lady Emma to her new moorings in Walton on the Naze.
All dependent on weather so we will be keeping a close eye on the long range shipping forecasts.

I'll be up to the boat next week at some point to put the fuel and fuel additives in and do a bit more prep. The week after next we have the engineer coming to service both the engines.

I'm sure the next few weeks before departure are going to go very quickly.

Good morning Jeff

Thank you for your concerns and good wishes. If all else fails I can go to South Africa for the operation using private health insurance. I would rather not as I have faith in the surgeon here. As you know he got me through my last op and the previous op when you visited in London. I am going to ring the hospital admissions on Monday for an update. I am annoyed with them as they must have known on Tuesday the operation had been cancelled, yet they told me to go ahead and have the pre-op assessment, naughty how they said it was definitely going ahead.

How exciting for you, you have a date for the move even though it is dependent on the shipping and weather and it’s going to incur extra expense for you with boat prep, fuel and servicing. Do you have bilge pumps in case of leaks? I am sure it will all go smoothly and be worth it in the end, what an experience.

Enjoy the car racing and have a successful day.

Good morning Andy, yes it was an enjoyable train ride and young ladies sitting opposite with the rings through their noses like farm animals was reminiscent of my youth when youngsters were trying out being rebellious stuff with fetish clothing and piercings, chains around the neck, sex pistols. I didn’t get it into myself and thought good luck to them.

Have a great weekend
