Default New Website

Hi,

Ive been playing with a website that some of you may find interesting. Basically its a bit of a work in progress so any comments would be welcome.

Its about my home network/entertaiment setup which may give some people some ideas.

Like i stated its a work in progress so more information will be added to it as and when.

Cheers

Andy

windows home server 2011 on the proliant plus 3 external 4tb drives for dvd's etc, and then i just stream into western digital tv boxes.

also stores all my music for the sonos.
basically i use it as a glorifed NAS box as they were so cheap with rebates that it would be rude not to

In terms of home automation, how far do you want to go Andy?
As you know I spend some time in South Africa where new home owners expect home automation for security and comfort to be standard.

The inside and outside of the house is monitored by CCTV, which can be accessed via the mobile phone/internet to use devices inside the house and controls the lights, the TV's, the opening and closing of the curtains. Then there is the welcome to the owner as he/she arrives home, disarming the outside ultra-sonic security field, with the electric gates opening and the garage door as the owner drives straight into the house with everything at the ready.....

Money being no object!

It is big business and if you know how the tech stuff works, is one way of making a living from it, even if you do not use all of it for yourself.

I had a good look at your website and liked the diagrammatic chart. Is it possible to click on each box to blow up the images?

Thanks Thats one thing I will look at doing a more detailed explanation of each bit of kit. As far as the home automation goes Im not really that interested in doing it but you have given me some food for thought on it.

A question I held back on asking, is what is going on with the photo of the "set up" next to the gas rings? If you cannot move either of them, do a cover up of the rings with a board or a lid and take the photo again. It is certainly eye-catching! but could be better
