Counterfeit SD/micro Cards
Got caught buying a Samsung Micro SD Card 32GB Class 10 from Amazon although to be fair I bought through one of their Sellers. Anyway received the card and checked it on the computer and I after several attempts I managed to format it, thought I would check it out with ' H2testw 1.4' and on my phone with' A1 Bench SD' and with the former here were the results:
The media is likely to be defective. 7.6 GByte OK (16031680 sectors) 23.5 GByte DATA LOST (49469504 sectors) Details:816 MByte overwritten (1671168 sectors) 0 KByte slightly changed (< 8 bit/sector, 0 sectors) 22.7 GByte corrupted (47798336 sectors) 34 MByte aliased memory (69632 sectors) First error at offset: 0x00000000f6bf4000 Expected: 0x00000000f6bf4000 Found: 0xffffffffffffffff H2testw version 1.3 Writing speed: 4.13 MByte/s Reading speed: 5.49 MByte/s H2testw v1.4 On examination of the card I compared it with a known genuine one and the difference; genuine one- clear markings with made in Taiwan on the back Fake card: Dull appearance markings not clear no manufacturing country on the back it was packed in a genuine looking bubble wrap package I am waiting for a refund and it makes you think that some of these cards must be giving problems to phones and 2din units |
