I uploaded the 8.0.2 update this morning Tony and backed up everything to an external wireless hard drive, plus I am running the complete back up to the icloud via wifi in the background. It says it will take 6 hours to do it this way. Is there a speed up? I backed up the phone and it only took a few minutes.

Despite what Apple said to Ratty, the roll back to 7.0 is still available for my device. I am doing everything I need to do in prep, if I decide that the latest update does not live up to its claims. Having said this and considered your advice, I want to work through these problems. Thank you For now I am holding off and will try and get on with the video editing on the iPad. I am grateful that the Androids have kept out of this

Default Ipad2 users help please

Can I ask any users of an ipad2 (with the large charging socket) with the latest software update (iOS 8.0.2) to check something for me please?

Can you go to this link to an ebay search and scroll down the page

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_od...touch&_sacat=0

Does your device scroll properly or does it take a couple of seconds to 'draw' the next bit of the page, showing just a white blank screen first? Mine is doing this all the time now since the iOS upgrade and it happens on forum pages too, especially ones that have pictures on them

Also, when minimising an app like Safari, my unit is now juddering when it zooms back to the desktop, where as before it would zoom smoothly. My keyboard is also very sluggish and if I try and back space too many characters in a post the whole browser just freezes and I have to restart safari loosing what I was typing.

I just want to ascertain if it's a problem for all ipad2 devices, or just my one which is a couple of years old now.

Many thanks if you can help

My iPad2 is scrolling fine. All the other issues you mentioned are not present either.

My second attempt at writing this up, after the first one froze. Following the protocols for back up, my attempt today to install 7.1.2.ipsw was foiled on the iPad with a message saying it is closed permanently. I left it too late, but could not do it earlier until the backup had been completed. Sorry to be the bearer of such news

iPhone 4 users can still use their iPhones operating ios 7.1.2.....without the upgrade

Hi,
Although I am not happy with the latest update on the iPad, when visiting that link I can scroll down that page with no problems.

Thanks for the feedback gents, I think I'll take it into the Apple Store and demonstrate how rubbish their latest firmware has made my once reliable and smooth device
