Default Millers for me

I tried Millers Eco max and an Italian tune up before the MOT and the Diesel emissions opacity test reduced from 0.51 to 0.08 year on year!

Well I'm disappointed. No change.
I'll tell you what I have.
When I start in the morning for work the tickover seems slow.
When I put car into drive it gives the impression of misfiring without the bang but a cough.
When I come to a junction or lights it seems to hunt but seems better when put in nutural.
When I slow down and the revs go to tickover the engine sometimes cut out, it starts straight away and drives no problem.
When on the motorway the car seems fine. I drive at 2000rpm normally

Any tips or suggestions WILL be gratefully received

Does sound like a dodgy injector causing a drop in pressure to me. If you can try doing a leak back check on each injector

Haven't the tools to do that.
Could it be the case of using a better injector cleaner?

Possibly, if an injector is badly clogged with hardened carbonised diesel but it may not be successful and still need a replacement. Worth a try tho.
Another thing to try is to take the engine cover off and look around the injectors – is there any sign of moisture / diesel? The area should be dry if not it will generally indicate a leaking injector usually from the o rings that harden and crack with age – can be a simple fix.
Beyond that all I could suggest is a mobile mechanic or your friendly garage who can do a leak check for you and in some cases refurb the offending injector.
Happy hunting

The frustrating thing is that sometimes in the morning the car gets me to work will no problems at all. Then on the way home it plays up.
Surely it would be persistant if it was the same problem ?

you'd think so wouldn't you but I had a Rover cdti with exactly the same symptoms as you which occasionally also cut out completely when overtaking at 50/60 which is quite scarey on the M25 in the outside lane - no engine, no power steering and no where to go. Yet as soon as I put the car in neutral and turned the key the engine would restart and away we went. be fine for weeks and then same thing again. Finally got the OBD codes read which indicated a faulty injector and pressure loss and a leak test proved one was indeed dead or at least dying. Replaced and all problems went.

I know its a bit of a run for you but if there is no-one near you who could test and confirm you could try Lates600 near Coventry who would sort it for you
