My Tourer is an 'RX' car, built in 2004 but not registered until 2006 (which is odd, as it's a nice spec and colour, so not sure why it would have sat around for 2 years).

Looks to have been sold by SMC at High Wycombe, according to the number plates.

There were certainly a few in trophy blue, some in royal blue, mirage blue, celestial blue......

Mines the same, built April 2004, registered September 2006. I suspect SMC too, will confirm which next time I’m in the car. I wonder if SMC bought a job lot of cars after MGR collapsed, or maybe just had a showroom car in each dealership.

Just checked mine and it also is from SMC High Wycombe.

I guess someone will know why SMC ended up with all these cars, perhaps bought off the MG Rover administrators as a job lot and sold over the following couple of years.

That does seem the most likely explanation. Maybe we should start an 'RX club'
