One thing I spotted while checking it is rechargeable is its a £30 a year subscription for the sim card for it.

I use on of these in my classic mini, uses a cheap PAYG sim card, I use Giff Gaff, detects vehicle movement, speed and location and texts me the details.

This is a quote from a Hotdeals thread about the XS Tracker:

"I had the streetwise version of this, utterly useless."

What phone do you have? All phones give off an underlying signal that can ‘talk’ to each other.. if you have an iPhone an Apple air tag works well, every time an iPhone is in range it pings a signal and updates it’s location. Samsung do their own device. I use Apple and my wife android so we have both items hidden in the Abarth so both networks trigger the location. Approx £50 and no subscription and works very well
