Default The Joys of Cornwall

Got back from Cornwall on Monday after two glorious weeks there - plus another couple of weeks at various venues en route
When:
  • the sun is shining
  • the kids are at school
  • the area is inhabited by other old fogies like me
...... it's a wonderful place to be

Cows, cliffs and Cornish coastline (road from Pentewan to Mevagissey)

Mevagissey Harbour

Goin' fishing (leaving Mevagissey Harbour)

A mazin' - you need satnav to get out ) (Glendurgan Gardens)

Simply stunning (Glendurgan Harbour 'beach' - stones not sand!)

Somewhere in the Balearics perhaps? (Portreath in Western Cornwall)

And finally - some wildlife (in Queenswood Country Park just North of Hereford, on the way home)

Notice the one common theme running through the photos - the sun was out - all the time

Looks great, just got back today after a 2 day tour. We did Newquay, Perranporth, St.Agnes, St.Ives and Bude. The only one we weren't keen on was St. Ives, too busy, £6-70 for an all day park plus £1 each way for the ride to town on the bus. Waiting for the return bus, Mrs.Heddy got quite huffy with the 'Jairmuns', they just pushed into the queue wherever they liked. Sauce Glad you enjoyed Cornwall, we were so lucky with the weather, more to come yet hopefully

Sadly you cant eat the scenery as a westcountry man I know how hard it can be to get well paid jobs in devon and kernow and fishing almost wiped out due to restrictions

Another big drawback to living in a "resort" is that the local Gov Dept's always try to run the place as if it's imperative to maximise income 24/7, rather than for the benefit of the people who live there.......

You could do it on an overnight jobbie - leave home 10.00pm, stop half way for a few hours' kip and arrive there by early afernoon
I used to do it when I was your age
