This isnt possible

Programs from the programs folder will copy but they wont work as they install all manner of settings and strings into the registry.

Here is a list of things that you can safely backup and reuse

My Documents
Favourites
Emails
Address Book

Programs and Drivers will have to be reinstalled regardless of you copying them across to a new machine.

I presume there is a cloning tool which will duplicate the start-up volume? I would err on the side of caution, follow Marks advice re- back-up. Install a new system and reinstall all else from scratch.

Now I'm running XP Pro, and I seem to be having problems.....

I've run network wizzard on both machines to allow them to link via the HH, but they can't see each other...

Any suggestions where to start....?

Sorry would have replied but didn't notice the thread... problems at work!

Probably a bit late with my barrow but I'm new and the info about removing Norton may be useful.

Even Symantec admit that norton is a begger to remove and so, for future reference, they provide a removal tool which removes all offending files cleanly.

http://service1.symantec.com/Support...05033108162039

I used this on a friends PC recently and it worked fine.

Make sure you choose the right version from the links available though.
