No problems here either, three laptops and one tower, the latter has a 1terabyte drive partioned with W10 on each.
I had a great deal of difficulty with one laptop (Sony) with freezing and failing to install, it was a hard drive failure, I had suspected that before when it was not running as it should. I would add again that the OP/SYS you are upgrading has to be registered. You will need to install W10 as an upgrade to what`s on already and not format it and do it that way. Once you have it on and registered you can format and install it as many time as you like on that machine. Ken. |

i know that windows 10 instaled ok on a friends lappy and worked fine but he uses his phones data alowance to tether the lappy for internet connection at work.
he normally used 4 to 5 gb in a month and has a monthly alowance of 10gb windows 10 and other apps started downloading data without being told to and used 30gb of data inside a week which cost him £40. hes fairly computer savvy but couldn't seem to stop the data downloads without completley switching his internet off. microsoft said oh yes it does that sometimes well fix it eventully. hes asked around and isnt the only person to see this happening so went back to windows 7. |

I've been using Ubuntu for years without a single problem & this PC is staying that way. I like it but other guys say it's too utilitarian for their tastes, It just works for me. The two other PC's in the house that I tried to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 both had problems & I had to roll back to win 7 on both of them.
Win 10 upgrade said they were compatible for upgrades but I had endless trouble & headaches with lots of files missing & software not working correctly. I read that a fresh install is better than an upgrade but I didn't want to reinstall a ton of software again so I chose the upgrades & they didn't work for me |

I am now reading that MS will be supporting windows 7 until at least 2020.
Since reverting back to windows 7 from windows 10 my computer is working fine again, great sound, organised pictures and documents, straight forward easy to understand in every way. There has been lots of privacy concerns for windows 10 to which I feel I would want to know more about also. I will be staying with Windows 7 for now and maybe nearer 2020 my trusty HP all in one will be ready for changing at which time I'm sure Windows 10, having run a few years will be the way to go.

No problems here, I've downloaded Win10 on 5 laptops and 2 desktops.
I think many problems people are experiencing are software and driver compatibility related issues. |
