Default Printer..help please.

I'm not very good with technology but I do try!!

My recent computer running windows 10 is great and I am getting used to the different format etc as opposed to my old windows 7 which I do still have.

My problem is I have an old Epson Stylus DX4050 printer . I lost the software disc but my local computer guy installed the DX4050 for me on my new computer..

It prints fine from any website on my windows 10 set up but if I want to print anything in pdf format it just gives me a blank sheet.

There is no problem if I use my old computer but I haven't room to keep my printer coupled to that.

Any ideas that are not too technical will be appreciated. Thanks guys.

What are you using to open and print the pdf?
Adobe Reader, Microsoft Edge or something else?

Sorry to be so long replying have been absent from my computer a while.

Adobe reader is the answer at least I think it is, I downloaded Acrobat which I think is the same?

It is strange, I have just printed off some Hermes parcels labels which are pdf and they printed no problem.

I think the logic is that your printer doesn't 'understand' portable document format directly. You have to insert a PDF interpreter between your PDF file and the printer. The interpreter (eg Acrobat) provides the printer with something it will understand and printout.
