Looking through your previous posts.

A loose battery negative terminal may have caused the 999999 error. A guru will know.

The FBH is a prime candidate for running the battery flat. (Satnav as well ?)
Disconnect the multipole connector FIRST, then disconnect the 2 pole POWER cable. Leave the multipole cable disconnected, as there is a known issue with lack of power on the FBH causing a fault elsewhere.

Then see if the battery running flat fault resolves itself.

Thanks Mark
The fuse advice really helped to quickly fix, though accept there may still be a wiring fault - nothing obvious at present. Noted the battery going flat back in October, it's a new battery and holds charge well if disconnected. Have not jump started the car at any point but battery has been disconnected and connected more than once and trickle charger on and off.Have done a current leak test a couple of weeks back with no evidence of leak but I will repeat this. Also as you advise will disconnect FBH. From my reading I guess the whole car needs to attend the appointment to fix the 999999 IPK issue. Thanks again.
Jim.

The three prime reasons for flat batteries on diesel 75s are Satnav, FBH, and possibly wipers spontaneously activating.
Disconnect the satnav (if fitted), and FBH.
Place tissue paper flat under the wiper blades, and IF the wipers do spontaneously activate, the tissue paper should crumple up.

When reconnecting a battery, make sure that the bottom of the battery terminal sits flush on the battery. If not, loosen bolt, gently tap down on the terminal until it DOES, then tighten the battery terminal reasonably tight.

Not getting the terminal to sit flush before tightening, is probably the prime cause of loose battery terminal.

A loose terminal, combined with the alternator turning, probably generated the spike that scrambled your IPK. Any thoughts Gurus ?

And the fuse failure is probably either the white/red wire shorting to the engine block, or a temporary short of a connector to the engine block, while looking previously for the fault.

A fresh pair of experienced eyes from a guru (with a T4) may see something you have missed. The IPK fault needs rectifying, as it may lead to another problem.

I'm glad TOAF helped. I think it is an underappreciated tool. Thanks for donating to the club.

Good luck.

So a question for big Russ about the 999999 odometer problem. Can this be fixed by sending the ipk (?with lcm) for repair by t4 or does the car need to come too? Thank you!
