Default Swarfega-B&Q

Hi,just got some Swarfega-Heavy from B&Q for £6 for a 1 litre tub, they also have the ordinary for £5 a litre tub. Also have the bigger tubs.Thought that was a good price approx half of what is on the bay sites.Maybe be cheaper at some motor factors but if passing B&Q worth a check.Regards Ryszard..

It's worth keeping an eye on the car shows during the summer!
I often get five litres for £12! Lasts forever!

My dad used to buy it in the oil drum size for his garage. As a kid I used to love plunging my arms in it as far down as I could

Ahh the memories. . .

Ali.

I would still use washing up liquid and washing powder, when I cant get something off. I wonder why my hands are so dry! It has been a while since I needed it, I tend to use rubber gloves now, though I hate them. But needs must.

Thanks for the heads up, I will get a tub if they have any left on Friday.

I've got a pot of Mean Green which is like swarfega, but nearly a dry compound, its really good, the pot I've got is second hand is half full and is over twenty years old! cost about £4 for a 500 gram tub!!! You use a tiny amount each time and it has little beads in it to get rid of grease an grim. But I don't do mechanics that much that's why I've still got the tub, but I know swarfega goes off after a while and we used to use Deb cleaners at work which work in the same way to swarfega and a product called manista which was really good stuff £18 for five litres!, but they both have hand sanitiser and antibacterial stuff in it as well! but unlike the mean green they all go off after while!

Yep, but: Screwfix £12 for 4 litres. Always much cheaper than B & Q which I've never understood as they're owned by the same firm. Remember first started as a wee sales counter near me at Yeovil.

Screw fix is more for trade and B&Q is for the masses and I know a lot of people that don't know it exists! I like screw fix for most of my tools and there screw packs are pretty cool! I've got three of there large metal cases with uddles of screws for all sorts of applications and they didn't cost the world either!

Just wondering why you often need to get something that lasts forever?
