It was quite common to have pro drive labels on harnesses but don't ever remember any plaques fitted

Thanks guys.
I'm interested in vehicle number 12 from Munich (on mobile.de).. But somehow a bit deterred from the glove-box in a wrong colour and the crumply-looking MG label on the steering wheel.

That's a pre-production car and has a 75 rather then ZT interior. No idea why..

I know it is.
Apparently the interior was simple cloth originally and the current owner changed it to velours.

probably better off buying a well sorted uk car for much less than a lhd one and putting up with the steering wheel on the right

Somehow I have lost in the trust of "well sorted" and "uk car" in one sentence.
I have worked for the British Army too long and seen too many of their bad cars...
No offence here on my side. Honest.

I will have a good peek at No. 12 on Saturday. Can't wait....

I really didn't want to offend anyone here with my last posting. Sorry if I have done so. It's just that I've seen too many crappy cars driven by sqaddies...

Spoken to the current owner of MG ZT 260 "No.12" again. He still has the original cloth-seats that were factory-fitted, together with the complete history within a folder. The car has been deregistered for a couple of years. Due to my appointment on Saturday he has registered it again yesterday and also renewed the TüV (German roadworthiness-check).
I hope the 1300 km-tour to Munich and back, will be worth it !

And on another note I have contacted the shop in Krefeld who has a couple of Rover 75 V8 and a 75 LWB for sale on mobile.de . Altogether they have 6 Rover V8 on the lot, all of which are rhd and saloons.


Can't wait for Saturday to come !

I got your drift, and you may be right.

But going to Blighty for a car is a bit too much, in my humble opinion.
And asking an owner if he would want to part with his car is a bit inpolite.

I drove the No.12 car in Munich yesterday.
Unbelievable how you can throw that thing around the bends without even a hint of tyre-noise.
It really drives like my 1990 Honda CRX !

But looking at some details, I have understood about what you guys mean about "dodgy" car and history.
It is a preproduction model after all and the history is accounted for.

One of the "dodgy" things is the switch in the fascia where the "V8" plaque should be.
