CDTi Replacement Exhaust
The exhaust on my Rover CDTi (built 16/03/2005) is due for replacement.
Is the MGZT version identical or, if different, and if fitted, would this improve performance at all? Just thought I'd check in with you experts before I replace! Last edited by Edward Huggins; 5th March 2017 at 15:46.. Reason: typo |

The box was the same, but the difference between the Rover and MG one was that the MG one had longer pipes that stuck out past the bumper.

Well...
If you fit the 2.5V6 Genuine backbox (if you can get it) then you would need to modify it as the inlet pipe is a different diameter to the Diesel, however from everything I can see/work out, the box is identical. As for personal experience, I got a custom stainless backbox made up, with extra, extra quiet as my specification, as the OE backbox is a triple pipe system with 400 tonnes of sound deadening, so I got the exhaust builder to take the old box apart and replicate what was in the OE box. |
