So let's take this from the top:
*The right hand indicator is fully functional both inside and out. *The left hand indicator is functional outside, but the dashboard indication "Blinker" is not? *When the hazard switch is pressed, the right hand indicator acts as normal, and only the external indicator filaments are operational? Surely this is a simple bulb swap in the back of the instrument cluster? |

As usual - somebody takes a decent system that works really well and ruins it! What was wrong with good old fashioned filaments?

If the dash is not the high line type, then they are fairly easy to gain access to and the LED could be checked to see if voltage is appearing on their inputs, to confirm whether they have actually blown.

dash left hand indicator light out
Just resurrecting this thread from the dead, as I have the exact same issue.
Only had the car a week, and drove it for the first time today since we got it. Both indicator dash lights were working when we bought it, I'm sure. Today, the left is not, but the indicators and hazards are functioning all round. I did the dash function test, and no left indicator light present. Not sure if I'm missing any other warning lights as nothing to compare with. it's a basic spec. What are my options for getting the light back? soldering in new LED? replace whole dash unit? I guess the latter can't be done without T4? Only other electrical issues I'm aware of are a light bulb warning light on - I think number plate plinth is out, will double check later. and remote central locking has a mind of it's own. Oh and the boot lid solenoid thumps several times like someone is trying to get out, whether on the button inside the car, or the key. thoughts appreciated. a picture or video showing full compliment of dash lights on in test mode, would be helpful too.- if anyone can point me in the right direction? Cheers. |

Soldering an LED would be the easiest option, as you say.. T4 is required to code in a new IPK.

Try a voltmeter across the LED first, when it should be flashing. No volts, suggest the LED might be OK and the fault is elsewhere.
