Central Locking question.

Apologies for being stupid, but my 75 is the only car I own with central locking. When I press the button on my key there's a thunk, but nothing actually happens. When I press it again there's a series of thunks and every door unlocks except the drivers. This is not ideal.
It appears that most of the central locking is working, but there's a bit in the driver's door which isn't. Does anyone know what it is? Where to get one from? Or better still, does anyone on here have one for sale?

There are two ways to set the unlock procedure on a T4.

1 all doors open with one press
2 drivers door opens on first press and other three open on second.

So it looks like your Drivers side door lock has failed.

One of the traders on here would be your best bet for a replacement

Hello Dave (aka Bernard),

Whilst perusing RAVE for another member I came across this which you might like to try.

"If the rolling codes do become out of synchronisation, there is a simple process to resynchronise the remote handset with the GM6 [body control unit]: ... press either button on the remote handset four times within its operating range ensuring that the driver's door is closed and unlocked."

Could be something simple like the link between the lock and solenoid.---

It is a motor Jon, not a solenoid coil.
And the rolling codes are synchronized because the other doors are opening second press of the button.
Dave has it spot on - the driver's door locking assembly isn't working as it should.

I wouldn't bother opening one up Jon. They aren't really designed to be dismantled, and once I got it all apart and stripped the motors I gave up and fitted a replacement.

Snap i am sure (Dave) investigated them also way back, maybe even before me.

As above best just to replace with a decent working one, or even a brand new one which is not cheap.

Try mickeyboy a trader here on the forum or a scrap yard.
The locks can be difficult to remove a the three torx bolts that hold them in place can be silly tight. Some fiddling also required
