Default Power Steering pump is leaking?

Hi everyone

I am in need of a replacement power steering pump for my Rover 75 Conny 2.0 diesel as mine is leaking from the seal of the two halves. My garage has so far been unable to locate one.

Any suggestions

yes they can,but the internals need to be serviceable. then you need to get the correct repair kit ,( if you can find one). some people have got away with just middle gasket replacement, but if you need bearings etc ... go for a recon or new . in a lot of cases its about the time factor, especialy if you only have one car. i have just changed mine on the KV6 but luckily i had a recon to put on. i now have another as a reserve , again recon. i have learnt my lesson there, having bought 3 used ones on ebay , only to find they lasted just a few weeks.as the milage is usually unknown, ... so for me its .. recon or new from now on.

One pump has a fixed pipe the other the pipe is removable, you can make either version fit though.

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-QVB101391E

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID002025

Original part number was (QVB101391) As always double check before purchasing.

Late 03-06 (QVB000330)

As above how long will a second hand one last ?

Question

If it's the seal between the two halves leaking, I believe I have a spare, brand new, uprated seal.

It fixed my leak.

I have just collected the car from the garage and have been charged £300 pus VAT for a reconditioned steering pump! labour charge of £150 plus vat.

I feel like calling it a day on my Rover. What a rotten Xmas present.
