Watch forums have a lot of "watch officionados" and "watch snobs"! Most of them have money to burn and love to spout about their spends! I have always been more interested in the "mechanics" of them and to be honest, the value, to me, is secondary. I have a watch, also owned by an uncle, which I wouldn't swap for a Rolex! (Wouldn't have one anyway- too dangerous to wear out in the big, bad world!). It's probably worth £20 on Ebay but my uncle's memory is much more valuable to me than monetary value. I have a Tissot Seastar Navigator from the 70's which I love but some of my chronographs are becoming more difficult to read as I get older (nearsight is failing). Enjoy the watch for what it is.

Not a watch Wearer as much I used to.... but I have two watches which hold memories for me, firstly a Tommy Hilfiger Watch for 20 years service to my current employer and secondly I have a £18 Casio Watch my Gran got me for my 18th back in 2001, this is the watch which means a lot to me as 10 days later she died from Cancer.

Shopping done at Aldi & MG on now charge in the garage I noticed the EV chargers are now online at the new Aldi store near me, Free charge whilst shopping is not to be sniffed at I'll have to get a type 2 to type 2 5 meter charging cable from our good friends at Aliexpress. When I got this MG EV 12 months ago those cables were priced from £150-£200, I've just had a look on the same site I got my 32amp home charger from & the 32amp 5 meter charging cables are down to £89.04 delivered.

Are these cables "locked" into position or can some unscrupulous person just disconnect it and walk away with it? Vandalism also springs to mind when I see these things on charge in remote car parks???

Still need to get a battery for the watch. I have a spare but not the right one, why does every watch have a different battery

Call me weird but I'm looking forward to them taking blood on Friday, first step in a comprehensive blood test to find out what's going on. I am constantly tired, don't need a good nights sleep, I can sleep for 9-10 hours and wake up just as tired. I have my suspicions but see what the blood test throws up.

From what I've read about other EV owners worried about the theft of the cable almost all public chargers lock the cable in place once the charging light turns green until you end the session via App or Chargecard.

My daily watch is a Timex which has a 10 year battery. I don’t know why watches have different batteries.

I am sorry to hear about your struggles. Having met you over the years at different meets, I have never considered you as being weird. Always thought you were down to earth and witty, Ging and yourself nice people.

I'm having my second retinal laser treatment tomorrow morning. At least I know what to expect this time round.

Hoping that the electrician will finally get in touch so we can get the consumer unit installed and switched on in the studio. Will be nice to get it properly finished!

Other than that, not much else to report.

How's things with Jessica and yourself ?
Cheers Jeff, thank you for the update about your forthcoming laser treatment. How many more do you have to endure? Is the eye specialist good at what he/she has to do?

All the best for tomorrow and getting in the electrician to complete the electrical works for your new studio.

We are both keeping active and the weather here is very good at the moment, the garden is looking lovely with many flowers in bloom.

Just completed my tax returns, that’s one less thing to worry about.

Evening Phil,

There should be one further treatment after this one (three in total)
I'm hoping that will be the end to it. I guess they will then want me back for a follow up to check that it has done the trick.

There is further treatment than can be offered if it isn't successful. Injections into the eye or possible surgery. Neither sound much fun so I'm hoping that this will work.

Once the final procedure is complete I need to have a specialist eye test done for the DVLA to check my vision is good enough for me to still drive. You can lose some of your peripheral vision with the laser treatment. Hoping that won't be a problem for me.....Fingers crossed.

Looking forward to seeing some of your Flora and Fauna photographs to brighten our moods back in dreary old Blighty

Tax returns.........enjoy

I'm off up to Colchester in a few minutes.
Ros has her follow up appointment at the Oaks Hospital where she recently had her cataract removal and new lens.
It seems that trips to Colchester and our eyes are going to be popular this week!!

I won't be allowed in so might catch you all from the hospital car park on the phone to keep me amused
