Hi to everyone, from the other side of the Channel.

I had an issue with plenum/ECU once in the past (wipers and alarm going on while car was parked) and it occurred again earlier this week, so I decided to do a proper plenum job. There wasn't any water in plenum space, but the drain was blocked. I suspect some water did stay there but slowly seeped away through the hole.
However, I've had more problems yesterday and today, wipers and alarm again. I disconnected the battery and everything went back to normal, except for a short lapse when the car went "dead" before ignition started, and then the engine was on.

My big question re the ECU is: how do you disconnect the big wires coming out of the box, on the right hand side of pic 17?
I can dislodge the ECU quite easily from its bracket, but I'd hate to do something regrettable afterwards...

TIA for your precious help and to you all,

Xavier

Lift the ECU off its brackets thread through the scuttle panel carefully then take the lid off the ECU case /box and all will be clear on how to unplug but remember disconnect the battery first for at least 30mins just to make sure.

Below are some pics of a 2.5 petrol ecu being disconnected, the Diesel one would be the same inside the box but as always take care no need to rush anything always investigate with your eyes looking everywhere before pulling any plugs and take photo's so you know how it goes back Arctic.:xmas-smiley-029:

Just a quick link for this thread as it is one that photos need to be rectified, even though we do have this thread below now.
