The one in the watch is a no. 395 Mike, haven't looked at the equivalents yet. I'd probably have got one today if I hadn't encountered the world's most unhelpful shop assistant, needs to get a job he likes! Its a shop I'm very rarely in, sells all kinds of tat, cheap tacky ornaments etc. I'll be an even more infrequent customer now.

I've had a look in my battery box and I seem to have everything but that one! I have used these batteries before from this seller and they have been delivered quickly and have worked well. Mike

Thanks for looking Mike, I'm in no hurry to get one, I had to go into Musselburgh today anyway and had a look while I was there. That place has cards of fifty assorted batteries, got one of them a while ago thinking that'll be useful . . . . no it wasn't! I think I used five out of the fifty, the rest stayed on the card until they died!

As you know my other half is from the far east so we eat a lot of rice and have a rice cooker. The one we had was a few years old but worked fine, my wife decided it needed replacing (why? It works!) and bought an all singing, all dancing Tefal thing. The old one went in one of the packages she regularly sends to the family back home. The old one lasted years, this new one has done about two years and packed in! An internet search revealed this new one is prone to breaking the wires that run to a sensor in the hinged lid so that's tomorrow sorted for me, soldering iron out, Tefal repair man.

Yet another "marketing strategy" of building something that is "underdesigned", in other words it breaks rather than wears out, usually just out of warranty, so that you have to "replace" it! Your new one will have to travel half way around the world and your old one gets recycled and does the return journey! Built in obsolescence! I've just had to replace my security light and the wiring has just about disintegrated after only three years. I haven't even changed a bulb in it. My old one was on the house when we bought it and I didn't change it for around 17 years (bulbs changed every 2 to 3 years) and the wiring was still sound as a pound.

Evening all, finally sat down, I had a pretty tricky track rod end to change this evening, typically the bloomin thing wouldnt break free from the inner joint, lots of heat and plus gas and it finally decided it had had enough.

Much warmer inside the house than out on the drive....

Cool

Was really doing well, checked out a couple of new places to meet. A farm shop with a nice cafe. Then I drove onto the English Spirit Distillery, not the easiest place to find but best stay on the A30 till you see the sign that leads you to the place.

All going well at this point. Had a lovely chat with the receptionist, lovely lady. Said I was hoping to bring a few members from a car club and that got her really interested. Pointed out the Yellow One in the car park. So we are invited back. Will be putting up a meet in the next couple of days.

Then I started to feel unwell, felt a bit sick. Thought it might be as it was warm in there. So I left, better out in the fresh air. OK into the car to start with but things were starting to turn the nasty way. Stopped in a lay-by and got out of the car. Threw up and felt very unwell. Somehow I drove home. No idea how I did it but home I got. Had a bad case of “touching cloth”. But I made it.

Feeling ok at the moment. Managed to get food to stay down. Now got a runny nose. So I’ll not long before bed.

You need a pair of double doors for the lounge!

The satisfaction of a job well done should give you a glow.

The glow is coming from the heating, nice and toasty in here now.
