removal of SATNAV = loss of radio display on widescreen
Hi all,
I removed the SATNAV drive from teh boot as i've had some water getting in and didnt want to damage the satnav resulting in battery drain. As a result I've lost the dipslay an the widescreen (which is combined with a BM54) displaying the radio station options and cd info options. Is there any way around this does anyone know? Or, do you have to have the satnav plugged in for this to display? I never use teh SATNAV anyway so work around would be great Many thanks in advance :xmas-smiley-029:

Even with the Satnav disc drive removed the system will still function and the display will receive a basic graphics input from the TV tuner in the boot spare wheel well. Kinda like BIOS mode display on a PC.
If the TV tuner is plugged in and you have no display then the unit is possibly damaged. Remove everything and fix the leaks, allow components to dry out at room temperature then try em out again |

I'm reviving this thread because I have a battery drain problem, and it's not the satnav - I have disconnected it.
I noticed that the TV tuner gets very hot even with the car standing a long time, so that must be the culprit. Now, the unit has two connectors going in, a blue one and a white one. If I disconnect both, I don't get any display on my highline screen, even though the radio, CD, tape all work - which is a problem. With one of the connectors removed I still get the display. Doesn't anybody know what each of these connectors are for? Also, if I don't use the TV or Satnav, can I somehow bypass the TV tuner to get the display working, or is that a no-go? Thanks. |
