Diesel PAS pump
Does anyone know if the PAS pump for our diesels is the same for a diesel E46 of the same era? Choice of reconditioned pumps for BMWs appears to be better, and can anyone recommend a good supplier of reconditioned units? Thanks

Our diesels came with two different pump types. When I needed one a few years ago, Best of British in Darlston were selling new old stock for about £100. This was a bargain for an unused pump. You could try giving them a call to see if they have any stock of the type on your car. |

If it helps, I think I still have a spare sealing gasket for a 2002 diesel PAS pump.
It certainly cured my never ending weeping. I remember I supplied a couple here to members. But my memory is failing me with details. |

Must go check the part number, if still visible. There’s a fair bit of noise from the pump now, certainly whining can be heard going around corners. Parked up, on full lock a bit raucous! Was thinking of using Forte power steering additive, possibly just a waste of £20 though!!

Those are the part numbers for the diesel I have in my notes. 1. The later type is QVB000330 2. I believe the earlier type is QVB101391 Not sure whether they are interchangeable. |

The numbers are now decreasing quite quickly of R75's but there are still diesels in the car breakers.--A phone call to one of them might be productive.

There are few parts traders on here that can probably help you out.
I got one from Micky about 3 years ago, can't remember the price but it was quite reasonable and saves dragging around breaker yards. |

Have had a look at mine today (whilst replacing front discs). Can’t see part number, typical. Will have a further dig around for it. Strangely the pump has quietened down today. Was thinking of getting a used one but with time spent putting it on is there any guarantee that it’s any better or won’t fail shortly down the road? Unless I get a used one and get it refurbished? How difficult is the job?
