what are the highway code changes?
I've been looking on the internet to try and find out what the Highway Code changes are coming into force this month and this year.
Can anyone give me a link that lists the changes? The info I have found is unclear suggesting January 22nd, 29th, March, if parliament agrees them. I'm not even sure if the latest edition of the Highway Code book has them. I cant believe it is so difficult to find a clear list of the changes and when they come into force. apparently they have 21 days to respond to my phone call. macafee2 ef me, just spoken to Department of Transport, useless. I got the impression no date for the new rules coming into force has been decided and could not find out what the new rules were. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/updates reading the web page, either a change or it is wrong, see below Updated Rule 98 to ensure readers understand: • vehicles which are towing should not be using the outside lanes on motorways • trailers are required by law to be fitted with a secondary coupling device Last edited by macafee2; 6th January 2022 at 09:35.. |

All the new regulations have any reference to white lines removed.

From the Eastern Daily Press. Lots of priorities for cyclists and pedestrians??? Plenty of Bolshy cyclists already. This will make them more annoying!!! Not too keen on the pedestrians take priority when a vehicle is turning left off a main road. I can see lots of "rear ending" going on as cars stop to let pedestrians cross the road at junctions (or pedestrians just stepping off the kerb in front of moving cars). Who thinks these things up???

Manchester has applied for trialling zebra crossings on side roads. https://www.transport-network.co.uk/...de-roads/17466

I knew that in theory but in practise, towns and cities will grind to a standstill as pedestrians will ignore crossings and just jump off the kerbs!
