Advice of spray can colour
Anyone know of a suitable spray colour aerosol can to use on my Mk 1 Wedgewood Supertallic temporarily that won't look too bad on the rear sill pieces?
I just have to temporarily spray my two newly replaced rear Sills to protect them from the worst of the weather until I get them both properly sprayed by a professional. Having just spent a fortune on replacing both, plus re-manufacturing the rotted away jacking points I need a couple of months before getting each side professionally sprayed for which I have quotes for. Also I would like to spray something like Waxoyl or similar into the new sills through the drain holes but all the spray head attachments that I can see are for fitting to an air gun type attachment. Does anyone know of a cheapish spray can head and tube that would fit in the holes and also just attach to the aerosol of such a protective product please? Thank you. |

Have a look at this, there is an optional cavity spay attachment which will do the inside of the sills.
Anybody had any dealings or feedback on this? https://www.lanoguard.co.uk/

Depending of confirmation of your paint code, the genuine product is still available.
https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-AWZ102020 It might be worth removing the sill finisher trim and clips to spray in rust proofing to the inside of the sill. |

They are indeed based on natural, non-petroleum actives and provide remakably good protection in value for money terms. Though petroleum based, semi-synthetic ingredients are now widely used in special need applications, underbody and cavity protection waxes based on 'lanolin' are effective and reliable. I've used a lot of such protectants on my cars over the years. See 'lanolin' on Wikipedia for more insight on its wide ranging application: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanolin I'm not associated in any way with the companies manufacturing or marketing this particular product. I have bought various touch up paints (for Rover, Audi and Ford) from an ebay seller called Fiona McGowan she is based in Northern Ireland and the color matches are great.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/fiona_mcgowan123 Dinitrol do a small spray aerosol of their rust proofing products which are very good. https://www.dinitroldirect.com/ Remember there are two shades of Wedgewood Blue so order by the colour code on your VIN plate. |

Thank you for all your help and suggestions all of which were helpful.
I've ordered up the JBH aerosol and the Dinitrol suggestion although I must say that the Lanolin stuff looked good, maybe one for the future when finances permit. |

Since bendrick has now resolved his spray paint query, I thought I'd help with bl52krz's query; he asked

Amazing really. It's several decades since I was involved in lanolin research, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's still being promoted in more well known, top shelf products. For example, the WD-40 Specialist Automotive Range. The one demonstrated in this video is similar to Lanogard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NnRzAz7JbA Interesting that the guy in the video is Australian. Clue - they have a LOT of sheep in Australia! So is it snake oil? Not at all. It comes from sheep! TC |
