Lightbulb Mods please read .

Okay Dokey lets get down to brass tacks .
The rules of this forum are clear to all , i have recently been subject to them so some sections are clearer than others .
Swear filters remove words and other types of insulting terms get edited or reminders issued by the moderation team.
One particular word seems to be allowed even though it is usually used to belittle or insult someone on here !! That word is TROLL !!!.

It appears to be a word some members love to use to attack people knowing there will be no comeback from the mods.

Lets get something straight right away here ( i dont like censorship !!) .
However this them and us scenario shouldn't exist on here and the use of the word is no more than a cheap shot .
Used in the context it was meant to be it has it's place but not when used to insult a fellow member.

I propose that this word is put on the list of words not allowed on here .

And before anyone goes thinking i am being touchy about the word i have driven taxis in glasgow for 30 years and been called some things even you have never heard .

Quite simply the word is being abused on here .

I couldn't agree more. As I said last night on another thread, the only thing I have an issue with is Troll. It has no place on the forum and it's the same as calling someone a 4 letter word beginning with a C, and that wouldn't be nice either.

So I would also respectfully ask the moderators to clamp down on the mis-use of the Troll word, unless they agree with it? lol

That's OK, it does show that it is not a derogatory term. Just a term used for off-topic messages posted in an online community

It explains in usage that it is a pejorative term and that it can be used as an ad hominem attack.

"express contempt or distaste" would be an excellent response to some posts and/or posters. But still not a derogatory term as such.

so you would use the term towards a poster/member and not consider it an attack on that person ???
Thats very interesting i must say ,
