Question Endoscope

Can anyone recommend an LED endoscope that actually works with an Android phone? Also, which software did you use it with?

I'm thinking of something like these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7mm-Water...YAAOSwzAVbcqfl

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07SK65N...l_huc_continue

I don't have a laptop and the PC is a bit tricky to take down to the car (and vice versa!) so it's phone only.

I have the ebay one, mine came with a software CD which works on my Win10 tablet. Phones need to support OTG function, you can download an app from the playstore to check if your phone supports OTG.

Thanks Dallas.

Have you tried the eBay camera with a phone, or just your laptop?

There are lots of OTG checkers - any particular one you'd recommend? https://play.google.com/store/search?q=otg%20checker&c=apps&gl=GB.

This one has a high rating https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.USBOTGChecker.usbotg.otgchecker.flas hdrive&gl=GB

Yes, works fine, just download endoscope app for android; as long as your phone supports OTG.

You'll get much clearer pics on a larger screen for inspection work. I use an old laptop which I was going to get rid of but kept just for that.

I don't have a laptop and I can't move this PC (it's too big and too complicated). I could move one of its monitors but then there'd be no software and the camera wouldn't work.

I installed 'USB OTG Checker' (link) and it says the phone supports OTG - I'm not completely convinced. The app contains a ton of ads so I got rid of it. 'Endoscope for Android' (link) appears to be the same publisher so it'll probably have the same ads. Not much use if they pop up over the already low-quality camera pics.

Most apps contain ads these days, unless you buy the paid version; viewing the image on a phone still works perfectly fine.

Using the supplied CD software on my 11" Win10 tablet obviously works better, but I'm still only viewing images... I only bought the camera for a bit of fun, it does what it says on the box.

Ah, that's ok then. I'll buy it.

I'd much rather use a laptop/tablet than a silly little phone screen - I'd buy one but it's a bit extravagant just to look inside some sills, upper arms, etc (and I've spent it all on parts anyway ).

I have one like this, purchased from China and was here in about 10 days, the gadgets that came with it are useful and helped me to retrieve a cable from inside the A post of a classic car.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Andro...xjKBxqVMQfWMHA

The software loaded as soon as I installed the device into the phone for the first time.
