It's sounds like a very annoyed Grizzly bear growling through a megaphone connected to a subwoofer.

They're not as expensive to run as some make out.
Matt, Run it at full pelt and watch the fuel gauge, I think you will change your opinion. |

My old V8 Trans Am used to do about the same as a 2.8 Mk2 Granada which I also had at the time. I thought that was pretty good. Mind you I never booted it.
Dave, the 1.8 NA is thirsty for what it is. Its carrying a lot of weight. She used to do a bit better than that when I had her but she never hit the factory figures. My V6 doesnt either. They are all different. |

People get hung up on MPG but in truth the biggest single cost of car ownership is depreciation. The difference between running a V8 in fuel over 5k miles is about £250 a year or £5 a week.
If you buy a V8 at the right price there is only one way the value is going to go so potentially you could run one for several years for no more than it would cost to run a 1.8. |

If light footed then I can get 26mpg, however I have got that, with a heavy right foot, down to 8mpg. My V8 400 runs as sweet as a nut.

You lucky boy, I'd love a V8 especially in a monogram colour like yours. A ZTT 400 in Bittersweet would do the trick........
Shame one doesn't exist!

Thanks all!
She is absolutely fantastic to drive, showed the grandparents today and they loved her. To clarify, the business is now based in Southampton but I'm in Southport - the new owner is down there, but I keep an eye on thing from up here.

As a matter of interest - does the V8 use a T4? I would have assumed as it's a Ford engine it would be either Forscan, or maybe just regular OBD2?
