Front Grill Satin Black.
Ok as i did not attend the September Nano meet the first i have missed in the last 10yrs, i decided as the weather was kind today to finally spray the front grill satin black.
This is a follow on with my plan to do all the chrome bits on the NUK in satin black, as the thread shows i have already done the door handles. So off with the bumper. 1 2 Front bumper on the bench/seat & mask the grill off ready for spraying. 3 4 Spray first coat of etch primer. 5 6 Once the primer as dried the first coat of satin black goes on. 7 After a few more coats the masking is ready to come off. 8 All i have to do now is let it dry a little more while i have Sunday dinner 9 Now that my Sunday dinner as settled, its time to refit the front bumper. 10 Front bumper fitted with the new satin front grill. 11 Grill with the original badge. 12 Grill with the Viking black & silver badge. 13 Decisions now have to be made as to which badge i go with, as the rear tail gate is a black & silver 75 14

Sorry Steve, I won't be doing that to my premium bumper......
I know things are subjective to the owners preferences, without which all cars would look the same, but I definitely prefer a touch of chrome which is why I have a connie, and not a contemporary. As long as you like it that's all that matters |

I like the original badge Steve as the red sail picks up your bodywork colour nicely. Also, because the badge is standard, the satin black grille stands out all the more.

As said above, personal choice, but not mine. One of the attractions of the ‘retro look’ 75 for me was/is the abundance of chrome, and again as above, that’s why I bought a mk1 Connie.
But it looks a well-executed job, nevertheless.

HI David.
Is that a spare front grill you had or have, as quite a lot of plastic weld as to be removed to take the front grill out of a facelift car, that is why i did my grill in situ.

It was a replacement that I had bought, as the original one was in poor condition. Weirdly enough mine wasn't welded on, but was held in place by sections that you had to bend with pliers to secure it.

Hi Steve. For once I have to admit, Black grill looks great. I am not a fan of black wheels but everyone to their own.The black grill looks like it wad made for the car.
