Just a quick Hello....
I used to be a member on this site a few years back,, and returned after a mate of mine has just purchased a 75, unfortunatly he is having some issues with it. model is a Rover 75 Saloon, 1.8 Petrol W reg. He has had it a couple of weeks, and tried to start it the other day, and nothing. He was told that it may be the crank sensor at fault. He has used my OBD scanner on it and it wont even recognise the car, the scanner works fine on his dads 75. He was told by someone to put the sensor in the fridge overnight, after doing that it would start and run for about 15 minutes, then cut out again. He was told by a guy that had been tring to fix the car that the sensor is very hard to get hold of and he was struggling to find a supplier. Any guidance would be helpfull. Thanks in advance Ken |

Ker ching...thanks for the link.
I kinda guess the chap that was first looking at my mates car, didnt look very well at all, or have the time. I had a quick look last night and found some on Ebay. But just reading thru a few of the older posts on here with simalar problems there could be a number of things to look at and try, just a bit odd that my OBD scanner wont read the car at all, maybe point towards the ECU ? |
