Would be interesting to know if the wiring was there?

OK must keep my eye open for one. Thanks. To another question: wiring is not there on my 00 reg, Cowley built car. It may get as far as the multiplug in the drivers A post but I've not checked. (Not checked that's the route either just my current guess). |

If the wires are there already they will be taped up into the loom and the connector is so small you will have to look at all the taped up sections.
I will check my 2000 Conni SE later today and let you know if its in mine and if so where its taped up. It would be rare to find it mind. But its easily added as its only 4 or 5 wires from memmory. |

According to the manual, the volumetric sensor has 4 wires connecting it to the BCU, 2 power feeds, an earth and a trigger. These look to be hardwired rather than signals passed along any of the bus systems. The colours of the 4 wires coming out of the sensor 4 pin connector are 2 x Pink/Yellow trace, black and pink/green trace. The 18 pin connector at the other end of the harness that goes into the BCU is fully populated, so there are clearly other component parts of the harness that play a part too. Here is the harness as supplied by StevenWilliams with the two ends in question circled: As to whether your car will come prewired, I'm not sure but I suppose you could take a look at the BCU in the footwell and see if all the pins are populated, as a clue. If you have all round electric windows your BCU will be Black, if front only, then it will be cream coloured (as the picture above). It is one of those little jobs I keep meaning to get round to, but with the cold weather at the moment, it's not something I'm going to tackle right now. Hope some of that helps. |
