Hi,
another one, who can not open the bonnet. Went to pop bonnet and lever went slack. I have checked that the nipple on the cabin side of cable is intact and it is so the problem must be under the bonnet.
It seems to me that on one side of the bonnet is OK. I can raise the bonnet for some millimeters. On the other side, it is firmly closed.
I have the steering wheel on the left side. Is there a difference?
Any idea how to sort this? Need I to contact the moderator via PM?

Hi, it is my turn that my 1999 Rover 75 kv6 cannot have its bonnet open suddenly. The lever got no tension, so likely the cable divider slapped? Worrying indeed.

....Can kindly advise how can I open the bonnet again to get it replaced?

Million thanks.

Will either side of bonnet lift a small amount?
This would indicate one front cable broken.
(usually passenger side which corrodes through at the catch end)

It is possible for the cable to pop off the lever inside tha car and that is well worth checking just in case before you go down the other route.

As for instructions to open your bonnet the club do not like the details published in an open forum but if you pm a mod they will send you the instructions

Thank you so much.

I think the main bonnet cable may be broken, or the divider box broken due to rust, as the lever in the cabin did not hold any tension when pulling....all in a sudden. Hopefully find a way to open the bonnet sooner to figure it out.

Hi Dragonfly,
I have a 2004 ZT Sedan and I the same problem as Ashley,
I the battery is dead flat as I have not started the car in a long long time.
Would this cause the key not to unlock the drivers door?
I am thinking, if I can open the bonnet and replace the battery it may allow the key to open the lock.
I know there is a way to open the bonnet from outside the car, but don't how to.
As I am in Australia, there is not too many who know what to do.
Please help.
cheers,
Ernie
