Default Radio blah blah

Hi,
My Connie came with a very nice Pioneer radio (AVIC-X1 - an 'oldie' but still contemporary to the car) with sat/nav, possibility to expand its functions with a DAB+, rear view camera, TV-receiver and voice control. Via ebay I managed to find a rear view cam, a DAB+ receiver and a Pioneer Voice Commander. However... Tried to hook up the camera, but I can't seem to get it to work. It's not a Pioneer camera, so I figured that might have caused a problem. Nevertheless, the Pioneer Voice Commander doesn't do anything either. I just looked in the installation guide and hooked the mic into the mic input. Then I tried to make it 'active' in the radio menu, but somehow she doesn't listen to me (familiar feeling?). Is there anyone over here who knows their way around this or similar radios? Tried contacting Pioneer about it, but they only send an automatic reply, telling me this is an old radio and they don't support it any longer.
Starting to worry now that I won't get the DAB to work either - I haven't had time to install that one yet).
Thanks.
Jasper
