You can see how the sockets to the ball have broken, where do these broken bits go? into the engine i presume.

You can see below how they go brittle and break off.

here you can see how the oil gums up the flaps, i have just removed mine from my FL2 which is easy compared to the 190 V6 manifolds.

Hi Arctic. Thanks for continuing to post such useful photos (which have been very useful to myself). Can I ask you what your solution for this was at the time when you discovered all of this? I feel pretty sure there must be many V6's in this condition!

Default Messy.

That's a messy manifold and I'm wondering how many have been simply thrown away as no good. I have an answer that I'm going to apply to one and test it, the idea I have will get rid of the plastic to plastic friction and will be foolproof, the vis motors will be under less strain at the same time and we'll be able to put some serious cleaning fluids in the manifolds from time to time. I'm going to suggest getting as many as possible and I'll post a how to in the near future so that others can copy the design I'm going to do.

Hi Martin.
The solution was to fit a good known one that had no rattle i was going to seal it back up as some members have gutted the manifold and used them with out the flaps.

Much the same as i have done on my FL2
