Default 2din conversion with pioneer

I have recently purchased a Pioneer SHP DA100 App Radio2 after looking at members and others reviews and fitting experience. I bought the cheapo 2 din Fascia and modified it. I shaped two pieces of wood and glued them in with araldite and put four brackets on. The overall result considerably strengthened the flimsy fascia and I was able to mount the radio direct onto the fascia. The hacking inside the opening was in order to fit a previous radio head and is not needed but all you have to do is cut the corners as mention my other members have. Also I have fitted a supporting bracket but I don't think I needed it as the fit is fairly stable

Very neat.
Like the idea of using the 2 wooden blocks.
I think i will copy you on that when i will put my 2din unit.
my car entertainment upgrade should cost arround £700 with the new tracking security system. (will be doing a inter European trip in July and dont want to risk loosing the car)

Hi thanks, its pretty easy just mark the contour radius on to the pieces of wood and jig saw. I roughed up the inside of the fascia a bit and glued the bottom and the sides and as I said it supports the head unit fine

Great way to mount the unit I should have mounted mine that way would have saved making up brackets from bits of perforated strips.

Hi overall I am pleased with the fit. The Pioneer is superb and with sharp images and highly configurable android via your phone with ARliberator I have had several 2dins over the years, including the original fitted unit first fitted by picky 747

Ten years later, inspired by your solution, I managed to make 3D printed supports for my Pioneer SPH DA 120. It works perfectly. Thank you sir!

I have the exact same radio and fascia, would you mind sharing the 3D printed file at all? I have a printer!

Would Be a huge help if you could

Cheers
