Default Light oak doesn’t match OEM at all...

Well gents on your advice I took the plunge and Simon is a gentleman. when I received the kit, however, it didn’t match the OEM at all. Simon says he thought I would have known this from the forum and I’m sure somewhere in the hundreds of posts there’s something to this effect. However, Trebor perhaps it’s about time to retire the light oak pictures in post 1 as IMO they don’t bear any resemblance to Simons current work. Simon says-and he is probably right-that most people are happy with them once in position and he will give me a full refund if unsatisfied. It’s just managing expectations. It’s a shame no-one mentioned this to me when I asked whether I should go ahead earlier in this thread...

Default light oak accessories resolution

following my earlier posting today I have decided to keep the bits and have started sticking them on. It's definitely transferring the look of the car and although you'd be blind not to see that they don't match, its still a good effect. The chrome stuff is particulalrly good. Simon agrees that perhaps some of the pictures on this thread will need to be changed and once I've done mine, I will send him some snaps which he can use

Following above post Simon wants to clarify the position on a couple of items.

Door trims

Doortrims No 61 and 62 - these are placed on the velour part of the doorcard. The standard adhesive on the back of the trim is not good good enough to permanently adhere so they either have to be further adhesed using a contact adhesive and/or screwed to the doorcard. If you want to use screws let Simon know and he will add screwholes, supply the screws, and hole covers to hide the screws.

Light Oak

Please be aware that the light oak is not an exact match. The colour is very close, but the grain is not the same. The colour has been approved by club members

If you are not sure about the colour, please ask Simon for actual sample for you to approve prior to ordering. If you want a sample please let him have your full postal details.

There is also a new schematic for the additional items from Simon which I have posted in post 1 along with the above text.

If anyone has any current light oak pictures please post on here and I will copy them to my first thread

Thumbs up Excellent product

Have just fitted more of Simon's excellent Walnut kit to my third Rover 75 and it looks splendid. All three are almost all up to spec in this regard now. Thanks to Simon
