Can simon produce these in other colours?

I cant help but think that rhodium grey pieces (for ZT owners for example) would almost double his market!

I've taken the plunge on door switch trims!

Ordered last Thursday, so if, as suggested elsewhere in this thread, it takes two weeks for Simon to get the bits to you, nine days to go!

Simon has made me a few *special* pieces, some free, others at a very good price, so i trust his costing of this item.

I asked him previously if he could make this piece and he said it could be too big to make, i'd be interested if he does go ahead and makes it.

I quite agree, and some items are achieving new price ceilings weekly

He was asked to price the job, which he has done. I can see very easily, how Simon's price could be justified. Its a large 'pattern' (passim) and consumptive in dimension. In reality this is a market declining to terminal, and specialist bespoke pieces will cost.

It's a matter of choice inevitably, if you like it which I do, you thankfully have the choice to buy, if not - don't.

Looking back over this thread certainly gave me a laugh. Like browsing a sort of Barry Boys website for the over 50s. The original design of the Rover 75 had real wood accents in just the right places. Some of these "adornments" are just unbelievably naff. Wooden button surrounds on a sat nav system? in the middle of a plastic steering wheel?
Slice it any way you want to... but none of it looks like anything other than someone has gone crazy with a roll of plastic wood veneer.
Although I'm surprised thatsomeone didn't just throw caution to the wind and.....

Cheers

Glad some of us have managed to provide you with some light entertainment but the walnut accessories have many satisfied customers including me so each to their own i suppose. They may be naff in your opinion but it is just that your opinion, and quite frankly I find some of your comments insulting to the work put in by Simon to compare his products to a roll of plastic wood veneer, you got one thing right though i am over 50 !

Why is it whenever someone expresses an opinion that doesn't comply with the gist of the thread it is placed on someone always has to be "insulted"?
For clarification, I said I thought some of them were, in my opinion, naff. I also think that anyone buying and fitting every single part has overdone it... again, just my two bob's worth. I'm not looking for agreement.... just adding my thoughts. It wasn't a personal dig at Simon, who I'm sure can defend himself of need be.
If I was giving an honest review I'd say the cut and fit of the parts looks great and the colur and pattern as good as can be expected for after market parts.
I'm sure others agree with my sentiments but fear the backlash if they say so.
If you read my comments and look at the picture I hope you'll appreciate the intended humour. Grown men in the 40s (me) and 50s (you) shouldn't have petted lip tiffs... it was banter and was intended to be taken as such.

Cheers
Bluey

I tend to agree that some of the bits in the kit are a little OTT and spoil an otherwise nice product - the horn button surrounds for example just look fake IMO.

I have a WDC kit in my car and, although I know the colour match isn't perfect I reckon that it looks pretty good. After all wood is a natural product and can vary in colour; but they've kept it simple - centre console, window switch surrounds and light switch panel - all nice flat panels that could be made of walnut.

BTW I like bling as much as anyone else and I'm nearly 50.
