I almost wasted my money on one of these - just to release the Crank Pulley Bolt - Until I listened to sound advice (from Brian ) A breaker secured on the front subframe and use the starter motor to release the bolt if there is a more efficient way to do the job i've yet to see it

it's a Handy Tool tho

Wasted!!!? What? I have owned one (of another brand) for a half year and I am absolutely clueless as to why I didn't buy one earlier. Those things are life savers.

for ME it would have been money "Wasted" - "just to release the Crank Pulley Bolt" - when I already had the means to do so with less effort required

Handy tho if you deal with a lot of seized/rusty nuts/bolts or fixings etc..

The 1800 is one thing, but the diesel is quite another when it comes to slackening the bolt securing the pulley

One word of warning when using a rattle gun for this particular job, wear gloves, and pad the handle with cloth.

So how much was your Black and Decker impact gun?

No, no it's not. How can a collective of nations reduce a manufacturing base that it does not own? That statement is just another attempt to bring up brexit.

Lamenting the fall of quality products that was caused by greed is not the same as nation using a democratic process to get what the majority want.

I bought my workmate and a big plastic tool box that had a power drill in it along with a jig saw, third sheet orbital sander and an electric screwdriver. They were on offer in our local B+Q for the sum of £75 for the two or £50 each, it was a mid range workmate not the basic one. I was impressed enough that I bought the set.
The ABS Roller tool chest was worth £35 on its own drill £20, jig saw £25, orbital sander £25, screw driver and bit set was selling at £28 on its own. The model of workmate was coming in at around £72 on its own at the time.
I bought two tool chests and one kit the second tool chest full of 240v stuff was for work. Had great fun doing the risk assessment to allow the use of 240 volt tools.
After all its amps that kill not volts got away with it dead cheep tools for use in the work shop.
