Initially by accident I was at Copart, viewing another car for a customer, when I first saw it and I briefly looked at it then, however it was put on the club site by another member sonic ZS I believe, and I just decided after some research, initially information provided by sonic ZS that it had to be saved..

Well done Michael, great to see this progressing so quickly (the replacement tailgate). If it'd been me, I'd still be drinking a cup of tea and grinning

Keep us updated, looking forward to seeing more pics

Well done for saving this and thanks for sharing
I too shall follow your thread with great interest. Will you be leaving it plain yellow or, will you be 'battenberging' it?

Great project - thanks for sharing it with us all on here.

Looks like you've made a good start on it, too. Did you get both keys and the service history with it?

I bought my 75 Tourer as salvage with only one key and no service history - but a letter to the previous owner managed to get me the other key, sadly still no service history though...

Anyway jolly good luck with the repair work and please do keep the photos coming ;-)

I won't be battenberging it, as I would like to return it to how it left the factory, but things could change

Excellent news! We'd all love to do something like this. It's people like you that inspire us to get on and do it when we get the chance!

Good luck with this most interesting and historically significant vehicle!

All the best, Stu

Funnily enough I was thinking of this car and whether progress was being made with it, just last night.
On my way home, I saw three brand new paramedic cars, with consecutive plates, in yellow, following each other, with the blues going racing in towards the centre of town.
Such a rare sight, it got me thinking.......
